This weekend I managed to get out of the city and go camping with a group of Scouts, it was AMAZING! Great to get back into sleeping in a tent, cooking on a gas burner and dragging myself through the mud of obstacle courses! Had a great time hanging out with kids again so think I am going to start helping out with Scout meetings before dancing on a Thursday, good thing I have Fridays off!
So for Friday and Saturday night we headed out to a place called Chalfont (Zone C on the train - almost as far out of London as you can get) with 13 kids (6 girls and 7 guys) and had a great time taking care of them and in general just being a big kid myself. We sung "Hokey Pokey" around the campfire, and ran around in the forest. Its great to get back to camp (even if I did have to wear my polyprops all weekend) seeing as I haven't been since the middle of 2004 in Japan. Made me realise that I would really like to do Camp America at some stage and hopefully get into Camp Wenonah in Canada as well - before I get too old to be running about in the wilderness with the kids.
Well, in more grown-up professional news, I finished my work at Man Investments today, managed to get everything done they needed me to do and got a bottle of wine and a card even though I was only a temp and only there for a month. Got along with a few of the girls there quite well so will keep in touch and am definately going to miss the free breakies and lunches there, has been great hardly having to buy any food at all for the past month! But will be starting back on my two meals of Special K a day tomorrow - might even splurge and get the red berries one (yum yum!)
Everything in London has been going really well, glandular fever seems to have made a bit of a resurge this weekend but went to the doc and they said there's nothing I can do other than resting and take a mix of meds so will be fine soon. Am still going to Ceroc and enjoying it, was looking into poledancing classes (as its something random Ive always wanted to try) but at £20 a lesson its a little expensive at the moment. Am working this weekend at the Opportunities Australia Expo so that should be great to get some cash on the side (as well as some candy) and get some options lined up for when I get back home. Am probably heading out to a couple of Halloween parties this weekend too - think a couple of us from the flat are all going to dress up as doctors and go out together, should be fun, will get some awesome pictures!
Hope things wherever you are are going well, hope you're enjoying keeping up with my adventures. Love ya and miss ya - Me x
