November has been pretty amazing, Ive now been in my new job for a month (have to admit its pretty cool working just off Oxford Street) and although some of the people are a littie old fashioned they´re lovely and Im enjoying making a impact and introducing some more efficient and organised ways of doing things. Looking forward to the company party on the 10th of Jan (a huge awards dinner with heaps of free champagne) as will be great to meet the rest of the organisation and it seems quite funky and young. Just before leaving my old job I took one more advantage of the free stuff a fancy investment company can offer and went to check out Kensington Palace and the Tower of London with Steele - pretty cool, even got to see the Crown Jewels (the wait was definitely worth it!)
Other than work Ive started going to Japanese conversation classes on Wednesday nights and have been trying out a couple of different dance venues. They even had a dance on a ship (the HMS president moored on the Thames) last Sunday which was a lot of fun to dance the afternoon away while all the tourists stared. Went out clubbing in East London with my Spanish roomate Cristina and a bunch of her friends from school, after getting back at 5am Ive decided to start learning Spanish, just enough for basic conversation at least :) Have watched the Kiwis beat England and France, seen the movie Borat, attended an Expatriate Management conference, been going to the gym, pool and out rollerblading and have been spending my Thursday nights volunteering as a leader at Scouts and so far we´ve had a Halloween Party, drawn fireworks and made rememberance day cards - so I cant say Ive been bored!!
But the highlight of the month was definately our house party on the 11th Nov - it was amazing! So many people from around the world because we have such a multicultural house it made for a wicked party with drinks and dancing until 4am! Promise to load up pictures sometime next week! Last night I went to see Peter Pan on Ice which was awesome - Ive never seen ice skating live but these guys were amazing, it was definately a kids show but the calibre of the skaters was way beyond that, such a magical experience!! (even if some of it was choreographed to S Club 7´s "Reach for the Stars" :)
Well, that has been my November in a very small nutshell, this weekend Im out for drinks with the flatties at the local pub as our British chick is moving out tomorrow and we´re getting another Aussie guy in - should be a good time. Haven´t figured out the problems with the photos but have added links to my previous England posts so you can check out the pictures
Hope you are having an amazing time whereever you are in the world - wish you were here with me enjoying my crazy adventure! Big hug x
